A few Long Distance Parents Speak Up
The Daily Breeze, a Los Angeles area newspaper, published a story about virtual visitation this morning. I had the opportunity to speak to the report as did two other long distance parents.
Consider this your long distance parenting information buffet. Long distance parenting is such a vast topic. There are three or more people involved, court cases, and situation specifics. All moving through months and years together. It’s not a read once and done kind of thing. It’s an experience you live that changes as time goes on.
Invariably, over time, something develops in your case or your relationship with your co-parent. Your child ages and is responding differently. It’s the holidays and what do you buy that will help your relationship? You’ve been feeling a little glum about it lately – how can you change that?

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel ran this story on virtual visitation on their front page today. I did an interview for the story with reporter, Stacy Forster. My quote wound up bolded along side the front page story. I carefully printed the clippings Michael Gough sent me along with the internet version, stapled it together and I plan on stashing it away to show my son.
It is darn near impossible to withstand the emotional part of long distance parenting without support of some kind. Ideally one would be surrounded by other long distance parents who understand first-hand but we seem to be few and far between.
