Child support and visitation rights are two separate issues as any competent lawyer will tell you. Linking one to the other is a bad idea and in many cases a violation of state law. It's good that you're encouraging the other parent to be a part of their child's lives. Too many think of the child as a pawn in the ongoing war with the ex, and one parent doing this is definitely one too many.
