Affiliate Advertising

Many of the product links to products recommended on this site are amazon affiliate links.  As an Amazon Associate, distanceparent.org earns from qualifying purchases.  If you purchase the advertised products, you won’t pay any more for the product and I will earn a small commission, which helps support the site.  Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc, or its affiliates.

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s computer tied to information about the user. We may use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user’s hard drive for an extended period of time. These can be removed by following your internet browser help instructions.

Like most standard web sites we log website activities. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information.

None of this data is shared with others with the exception of google adsense for tracking. In that case, Google is, for GDPR purposes, a controller of the data that is shared and used under this setting. Here are their measurement Controller Data Protection Terms.

Some of our business partners may use cookies on our site (for example, advertisers). However, Distance Parent has no access to or control over these cookies, once we have given permission for them to set cookies for advertising. This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by Distance Parent only and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.
