Kids are sometimes reticent to REALLY talk about stuff. So when I talk to my son, I always make sure to ask him questions about his day to find out what goes on with him. I ask about school and what he did and who he played with and what he learned. He will usually tell me if he didn’t like something or had trouble with something and that gives us a jumping off place to talk about what’s going on with him.
